“The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air.” – Galadriel, Lord of the Rings

While Galadriel, a character in J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy may live in the land of fiction, her words still ring true in our world today. The world has indeed changed. Christianity, a religion that once held so much power that it was able to shape nations and empires, has been pushed to the margins. What was once in the center of all things has been relegated to the fringes of society. As Christians, we now live in a post-Christendom society – a society where religious pluralism abounds and secularism is exalted. How, then, shall we live?

McMaster Divinity College’s Centre for Post-Christendom Studies is a place where academics and lay leaders alike can come together to explore this question. Join us as we wrestle with these questions in the world that we live in.
