This blog was recently posted on the website of the Canadian Baptist Historical Society. We cross-post it here because it is a poignant reminder of just how much the world has changed in a few generations. The Christian identity of Canada and of Britain, the Christian identity of the monarchy, and the Christian ethos of the West are increasingly in flux, and the language and liturgy surrounding the coronation of the young Queen Elizabeth II are a powerful example of those changes.
